East Devon is easily accessible
from the M5 motorway and offers rolling farmland, the dramatic moorland of Exmoor National Park and to the South East coast the towns of Sidmouth and Exmouth. These coastal areas offer
excellent watersports facilities, Exmouth being one of the oldest seaside holiday towns in England; the area is also on the fringes of the World Heritage Coast Site.
You can choose to explore Exmoor
and the surrounding valleys on foot, horseback or mountain bike and Dartmoor, which is only a short drive away, provides similar opportunities as well as caving and climbing on its rocky
tors. East Devon has some superb rivers for angling which can also be paddled by canoe or kayak.
When its time to relax and unwind
the area hosts some excellent restaurants, country pubs, museums and galleries, with the vibrant and modern city of Exeter providing superb shopping opportunities.
