The actual village of
Croyde is a picturesque place of shops, great places to eat and drink and charming thatched cottages. It's also home to the OceanFest, an outdoor pursuits festival which takes place during
August, attracting thousands of people to the area from all over the country.
From Putsborough you can take a
walk along the cliffs and look back on the beach as the waves roll onto the shore and then continue walking along the pathway as far as Woolacombe.
The road into Saunton, from Croyde,
lets you take in the magnificent view of the beach which stretches along the coast for miles. It's well known as one of the best long board waves in England and is backed by rolling sand
dunes which offer shelter to those who choose to relax and unwind or energise before hitting the waves again.
